The survival horror series takes a new direction as we go from conserving bullets to spraying them as the Umbrella Security Service attempt to cover up the horrors unfolding in Raccoon city.
The game is set during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 and also features some of the main characters and locations from both games. Because the game runs alongside the same storyline as RE 2 and 3, you can also change the entire plot of the classic Resident Evil games by choosing to kill Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield. This gives players a chance to play god in a sense as you get to see what happens to the character who survives.
Having spent alot of time looking into this game I can definitely say this game looks promising. Check out this game play and try to say otherwise!
The game has a few different factions that you can come across, the 2 main ones being U.S Spec-Ops soldiers and T-Virus infected Zombies, there are also Mercenaries and B.O.W (Bio Organic Weapons) and more. This makes the game more complicated, but in a good way as it helps the title become more of a tactical shooter instead of a generic Third Person Shooter and I am looking forward to that aspect.
Will hardcore Resident Evil fans enjoy this game? Only time will tell. I’ve played Resident Evil for a long time, but this gives me a fresh look at the series from the “bad guys” view. What more can fans of the series and it’s storyline ask for? A proper Resident Evil game? That’s still a little ways off. Should people give this game a chance, I think it can deliver on their Zombie terror needs, as well as your “gun’s blazing” needs.
Will it be successful? I don’t know as it is a pretty large gamble to use the Resident Evil name and story in such a fashion. But as a fan of Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil, I’m chomping at the bit to play this game.
